Lumineers
Minimal preparation veneers and even no-preparation veneers such as Lumineers, are becoming more and more popular today since patients and dentists both like the concept of tooth preservation. The “no-preparation” veneer technique does have limitations and is best used with patients who have spacing in their smile and only minor tooth rotations. We have seen cases where these veneers have been placed on a patient who is not an ideal candidate, and the tissue and shapes of the teeth do not look natural. It is this author's opinion that the minimal preparation technique where just enough surface enamel is removed to allow for ideal contours and fit, is the best choice given our current bonding techniques. It is always our intention to only remove the amount of surface enamel needed to allow our ceramist to make beautiful, life-like teeth for our patients.
