Our natural teeth are attached to our jawbones via root structure. The normal behaviors of biting and chewing produce physical stimulation to the root structures that each of our teeth have and in turn stimulate the immediate bone material that the root is attached to. Inversely, when we are missing teeth and the accompanying root structures our jaw bones will resorb and produce the deterioration of the jaw which gives a sagging facial appearance.
